Getting Started
Can I try the
service before I buy credits?
Of course! Join
ipipi and we'll give you a free credits to get you
started. Please note, these free evaluation credits are
available to most, but not all global networks. After you
try the service and see how great it is, simply
purchase some credits
and keep on texting.
How do I set up an
account?
To start, please go to our
Sign-up
page and enter some basic information to create your
account.
What's my user name and password? If you have trouble logging in, make sure
you typed your user name and password correctly, using the
same UPPER and lower case letters. If that didn't work, go
to www.ipipi.com and click on the "Forgot"
link, enter in your email address that you used to
create your account, and your user name and new password
will be emailed to you.
What's a
confirmation code? Why do I need it?
We need to make sure that the proper
email addresses and cell phone numbers are registered in our
system. Otherwise, we can't guarantee your messages will be
sent and received properly. To do this, we need to confirm
that the email addresses and cell phone numbers you type in
are correct.
When you submit your email address or your mobile phone
number, we send you a message with a confirmation code. If
you receive the message and enter the confirmation number
into the ipipi.com system, we know that your device is
correct.
I never
received a confirmation code. Why not?
Did you type your email address
correctly? Try re-entering your email address or using a
different email address to receive the confirmation code. If
you have a Hotmail, Yahoo, or AOL email address, messages to
these providers often get lost or end up in SPAM folders.
Please ensure that you enter email domain ipipi.com to your
webmail's "white
list". Learn more about
confirming your account with our tutorial.
I never received a confirmation code on my
cell phone. Why not?Possible reasons:
- You entered an incorrect number so the confirmation
code went to someone else.
- Your wireless provider may not be one of our
available networks.
- Sometimes, the message can get lost. Try resending the
confirmation code by logging in, clicking on Registered
Devices, going to the "bell" icon and sending it again.

I

Payments made with Paypal require an extra step.
To activate the transfer of credits to your account, simply
log out and log back in. This is a one time only requirement
for your first payment.
Do you have a
refund policy?
Yes. We have a "30-day-no-question-asked" refund policy.
If, for whatever reason, you are not satisfied with our
service we will refund the purchase price of all unused SMS
credits. Please note that setup fees and used SMS credits
cannot be refunded. For more information, view our
terms of service or

refund.

help make the service better for you, we are happy to serve
your request to permanently delete your account. Please log
in to your account and click

questions asked.
Is there a limit to the size of message that counts as one
credit?Yes, a regular SMS message is up to 160
characters (including spaces and punctuation marks). Unicode
messages are limited to 70 characters. This is a technical
limitation of the SMS protocol. Please note, your messages
are prepended, by default with your first initial and last
name - you may change this to an alternate/shorter string on
your SMS
Settings screen.
I sent an SMS to one number but I was charged two credits.
Why? Currently, we charge one credit per SMS
transaction. A single SMS message can require multiple
transactions to send through our system depending on the
size of the message, and whether the message is sent from
Web to mobile, mobile to mobile, and whether you use
forwarding rules or reply confirmations. Please refer to the
following when sending an SMS message.
If you send from the Web interface to a mobile phone the
cost is one credit.
If you send from your registered mobile phone to any
other mobile phone it costs two credits (one credit to send
to our system, plus one more credit to relay the message to
final destination).
If your message exceeds 160 characters, the service will
break up your message into two (or more) messages to make
sure your entire message gets sent. If you want to change
this, click on the
SMS Settings link when you login to your account.
If you have set up a Forwarding Rule on your account,
each forward counts as one SMS transaction and costs one
additional SMS credit. Go
here
to learn more about Forwarding Rules.
I have just sent an SMS but my account balance does not
reflect any charges. Why?
After you sent an SMS, the message will be placed in a queue
for sending. Your credits will not be deducted until your
message is sent out from our server successfully. This is
due to the fact that it sometimes takes time for our service
to negotiate with remote network.
Sending and Receiving SMS Text
Messages
What are your gateway numbers? What's a
country code? A full explanation and a complete list of our
gateway numbers are available
here.
A country code is the unique identifier for each country -
full list is available
here.
How do I send an
international SMS from my mobile phone?
You can send international SMS even if your wireless
provider does not allow it. Simply follow the
instructions we lay out here, and you can start sending
SMS to any mobile on the Planet. Please
note, sending SMS from your phone will require an additional
transaction and credit.
I can send SMS to my friends, but my friends can't reply to
me. Why not?
Generally, ipipi supports two-way SMS messaging - your
friends should be able to reply to you. In some cases, a
direct reply
is not possible. The best solution is to have your
friends send you SMS from one of our gateways. If you
have tried this without luck, please try an alternate
gateway number. This usually fixes the problem.
I sent an SMS message, but my friend never received it. We are dedicated to providing you with fast and
reliable international SMS service - over 99% of messages
arrive, and most within a minute. However, on some
occasions, problems do occur. In general, the SMS protocol
cannot guarantee delivery, but in other cases there may be
more specific problems. Why is this?
- Our partner in the country you're trying to reach may
be having temporary service problems
- We may be having temporary service problems
- Some messages can get "lost" - try resending the
message
- Make sure your messages are in the
correct international format (don't forget
the country code, or they will go to the wrong person!)
How can I receive service
updates?Service updates are posted on our
web site. You can also
contact us if you think your problem needs
attention. We rely on your feedback to tell us when
there are problems - the sooner we know of the issue,
the sooner we can alert our partners to fix the problem.
Do I need to add + (plus sign) before SMS
number? The "+" sign is optional on the Compose SMS
page. For example, both 16463332222 and +16463332222 are
valid. When sending from
your phone, some operators will require the "+" sign
in front of the number.
Can I send SMS in different languages like Chinese or
Korean (unicode)?Yes, ipipi.com supports the unicode standard.
However, keep in mind that:
- The phone you're sending an SMS to must be able to
read unicode
- When you send an SMS message in unicode, your message
can be a maximum of 70 characters.
If you go over 70 characters, your message will be split
into two (or more) SMS messages.
The
message I sent does not exceed the maximum characters per
message (as shown in Compose SMS page), but the message was
still split into two messages when sending. Why?
Some browsers do not calculate the "CR(carriage return) -
LF (Line Feed)" characters correctly. To avoid this problem,
type your message without hitting “Enter”. If you do, keep
in mind that each “Enter” you pressed will be counted as two
characters.
