Deliver incoming SMS
messages to |
You can use this option to have incoming
messages forwarded to your mobile phone or to an external
email. To do so simply select a device which you previously
registered with your account here.
Please note that we STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you leave this
option in default state for two reasons:
1. This option takes precedence over
Forwarding Rules. This means that any Forwarding
rules you define (Settings->Forwarding Rules will not
execute if you select this option).
2. When this option is selected,
messages are NOT stored in your Inbox, rather, they are
simply re-directed to your external account. If, for
whatever reason delivery to that device fails (for
example, email may get caught in SPAM filter of your
external email account). You will not be able to access
the content of this messages. You will still be charged
for this transaction.
We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you leave
this option in default state and accomplish forwarding
by creating one or more
Forwarding Rules. |
Split long text into |
Specify a number to indicate into how
many parts you would like to split your messages that exceed
maximum for your account. For example, if the maximum number
of characters per message for your account is 160 and you
set this value to 2, then, when you type a text that is 350
characters this will be split into two messages of 160
characters and sent as two messages. The remaining 30
characters will not be sent. Your account will be charged
for 2 credits.

Start my messages
with |
Each SMS message sent from from your
account is prefixed with text that identifies you as a
sender. By default, this text is your first
initial+your last name. Use this field to
personalize how messages that you send will be
distinguished. |
Receive Low Credit
Notifications |
When your account balance reaches 25
credits, the system will send you email notification so that
you can purchase more credits and continue the service
without interruption. You can also have the system send a
SMS reminder to one of your registered phones. |
Character Set |
You can send text messages in your
language/character set of choice. Chinese, Japanese, Arabic,
Cyrillic, Arabic... all character sets are available. The
language you set here will be default for your account's
Outgoing messages. |
Receive Delivery
Notifications |
Message delivery notification is a BETA
service available on about 90% of our routes. When you send
SMS to one of these networks you can receive email message
indicating the status of your message. Please note that each
such message requires one credit. |
Receive Incomplete
Messages |
Sometimes, your friends will send you
messages that consist of several parts (they type long
text). In some cases, some of these parts may be lost along
the transmission. Set this flag if you want to receive
incomplete incoming messages. |
Append Contact Info |
If you forward SMS replies to your
mobile, messages will be prefixed with the respondent's
mobile number. If you want to append their contact
information as well, please register their information in
your Contacts List, and check this box to append their
contact information. This may cut off the end of messages. |
WebText Code |
The WebText Code (6-12 characters long,
case insensitive) is a unique service that will enable you
to send SMS messages from your favourite email service (for
example, your RIM BlackBerry, Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, or AOL
Webmail). To do so you need to:
- Enter your WebText code here (think
of this as your PIN number)
- Register email address of your email
account (for example: "you@hotmail.com).
- Compose email and then to one of the
following options:
Option 1 (WebText in Subject line)
- enter the recipient's phone number
in the To line in the format
'19999999999@opensms.ipipi.com'
- WebText Code in
the Subject line.
- Enter the text you want to send in
the body of your email
Option 2 (WebText in Recipient line)
- enter the recipient's phone number
in the To line in the format
'WebText--19999999999@opensms.ipipi.com'
- Subject - empty
- Enter the text you want to send in
the body of your email
There is another benefit to defining
WebText code in your account. If you forward incoming SMS
messages to an email account, our service will format such
email messages so that you can simply hit the reply button
in your email reader, write your message and send. Your
email message will be received by our service which will
convert it to SMS and send it to the original sender. Cool,
eh?!
We recommend that you change your WebText Code frequently. |
smsIN |
To allow anyone to send text messages to
you set your smsIN code (up to 6 characters long, case
insensitive) here and then give it to your friends. Your
friends can then send you messages by:
- Start their messages with "+smsIN"
and
- sending them to one of our Gateway
Numbers
Such messages will come to your Inbox. |
smsOUT |
Use smsOUT to have messages you send
appear as if you sent them from your phone. When your
friends reply, their replies will be sent from your friends'
phones directly to your phone.
